MPW begins maintenance of Al-Sour Street as part of nationwide road rehabilitation plan

Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan announced the commencement of maintenance work on Al-Sour Street, located behind the Social Insurance Building in downtown Kuwait City.
The project forms part of a broader initiative involving 18 road rehabilitation projects across various governorates, aligned with the goals of the “New Kuwait 2035” development plan, reports Al-Rai daily.
Dr. Al-Mashaan emphasized that the ministry remains committed to executing infrastructure projects in accordance with the highest approved technical and engineering standards.
She noted that enhancing road quality and operational efficiency is a key priority due to its significant role in supporting sustainability and meeting the demands of urban development throughout the country.
In the same context, Engineer Jamal Al-Otaibi, supervisor of the “Contract 8 – Second Zone” project, stated that technical teams have begun laying a “Type 3” asphalt layer on Al-Sour Street.
This type of material was selected for its compliance with stringent technical specifications and is being implemented as part of newly signed contracts aimed at rehabilitating and modernizing Kuwait’s road network.
The project reflects ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Public Works to improve national infrastructure and contribute to Kuwait’s long-term strategic vision for sustainable urban growth.
