ICAI Kuwait chapter makes a powerful impact at WOFA 2025

The World Forum of Accountants (WOFA) 2025 recently concluded in New Delhi, India, showcasing the theme “Accountability Meets Innovation (AI) for a Sustainable Planet.”

WOFA 2025 provided a platform for professionals to engage in discussions on the shifting dynamics of finance and explore innovative strategies for a sustainable future.

The event brought together esteemed speakers from diverse fields, including government officials, industry leaders, and experts in accounting and finance. With over 6,000 delegates from more than 40 countries, participants represented international accounting organizations, leading firms, regulators, economists, and academics.

The ICAI Kuwait Chapter had strong representation at WOFA 2025, led by Chairperson CA Aditya Vikram Dhanuka, along with office bearers Vice Chairperson CA Rohit Agarwal, Secretary CA Venkata Ramana Badida, and Treasurer CA Umesh Soni.

The delegation also included committee members CA Sweta Chipra and CA Suparna Mukherji, as well as past chapter chairpersons CA Rabin Gonsalves and CA Sriram Gopalakrishnan. Additionally, CA Neeraj Goel, a member of the chapter, participated, bringing the total delegation to nine members.

For the first time, a Kuwaiti delegation from the Kuwait Accountants and Auditors Association (KAAA) attended this prestigious global event. The three-member delegation included Mr. Sabah Al Jalawi, Chairman of KAAA, along with members Mr. Mohammad Al Shuaib and Ms. Nagham Alghanim. Notably, Mr. Shuaib participated as a speaker at WOFA, delivering a session that was well received by attendees.

This marked the highest-ever representation from Kuwait at any ICAI event, with the record-breaking delegation leaving a lasting impression. Their participation earned special recognition from ICAI President CA Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal and Vice President CA Charanjot Singh Nanda.

On the sidelines of the event, the delegation also met with Kuwait’s Ambassador to India, H.E. Meshal Al-Shemali, to discuss enhancing cooperation in finance, accounting, and auditing between Kuwait and India.

This stands as a testament to the ICAI Kuwait Chapter’s unwavering commitment and dedication to supporting Kuwait’s economy and businesses.
