Ministry of Social Affairs revokes citizenship of 80 female employees
The decisions to withdraw citizenship did not impact supervisors, including directors and department heads.
• Every female employee whose citizenship was revoked will receive a monthly bonus equal to her last full salary, in line with Civil Service Bureau rules and regulations.
More than eighty female employees of the Ministry of Social Affairs were recently impacted by decisions to withdraw citizenship (formerly Article 8), spanning various sectors of the ministry, sources told Al-Jarida newspaper.
Notably, the decisions did not affect supervisors, including directors, managers, or department heads. The Financial and Administrative Affairs Sector has since worked with the Civil Service Bureau to return all financial dues, in line with directives from the political leadership.
The sources explained that the working team, recently formed by a decision from Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry, to implement procedures for female employees whose nationalities were revoked, is continuing its work by reviewing the lists of names sent to it, starting with the concerned authorities.
The team then compiles the names and numbers of female employees affected by decisions to withdraw nationality under Article 8 of the Nationality Law (formerly), taking the necessary and prescribed measures. The team is finalizing assistance contracts with these employees, starting the day after the decisions and decrees of withdrawal and loss are issued and published in the Official Gazette, for a one-year period.
It was emphasized that every female employee impacted by the decisions will receive a monthly bonus equal to her last comprehensive monthly salary before the decision, in accordance with the rules, laws, and regulations of the Civil Service Bureau. This will be done in coordination with relevant government agencies, including the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Interior, the General Organization for Social Insurance, and the bureau, to address any potential obstacles.
