“Health Ministry” launches 72 mental health clinics in primary care centers

The Ministry of Health announced today, Tuesday, the establishment of 72 primary mental health clinics within primary health care centers across various governorates of Kuwait. This initiative aligns with the national health strategy, reflecting a commitment to promoting public health and providing integrated health services that ensure easier access for citizens.

The Ministry stated in a press release that this initiative is part of its efforts to enhance health services and achieve integration between psychological and physical care, aiming to provide comprehensive, high-quality care.

The clinics operate under carefully designed mechanisms to ensure complete privacy and confidentiality. Appointment requests are handled according to specific guidelines, with scheduling based on medical standards to provide the highest level of care.

The Ministry explained that the clinics offer comprehensive treatment plans and address common psychological conditions, including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, sleep disorders, and phobias, along with other prevalent mental health issues.

Importantly, the Ministry noted that this service is available to adults aged 18 and above and does not include emergency cases, ensuring a suitable treatment environment for patients.
