Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, the Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, affirmed on Monday that the media landscape is undergoing a series of rapid changes. He emphasized the need for media officials to adapt to these shifts, evaluate their performance, and develop strategies to stay in sync with ongoing developments, as reported by Al Qabasnewspaper.
This was highlighted in a speech delivered by minister Al-Mutairi during the 102nd Ordinary Session of the Standing Committee for Arab Media and the 20th Ordinary Session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information in Abu Dhabi.
Minister Al-Mutairi stated: “We are required to translate visions and strategies into a clear approach to equip our media institutions to play a more effective and influential role, aligned with the demands and developments of the current landscape, to achieve growth and prosperity for our Arab countries.”
He added, “Youth are the foundation of the future, a key pillar in building our societies, and an invaluable demographic asset. This necessitates harnessing all our capabilities to empower them—not only as recipients of media content but also as creators who express their hopes, aspirations, and concerns. We must provide platforms that enable them to interact, positively influence, and share success stories and initiatives that inspire their peers to actively participate in the development of their communities.”
He emphasized the importance of fostering a media narrative that targets young people with a creative spirit, aligning with their aspirations, nurturing their ambitions, engaging with their interests, supporting their initiatives, and influencing the shaping of their future.
Regarding Kuwait’s preparations for its selection as the Arab Media Capital 2025, minister Al-Mutairi highlighted the efforts of an integrated team of media professionals, technicians, and specialists with a high level of expertise and dedication, working to present these events in a creative and innovative manner that reflects the excellence of modern Arab media.
In his speech, Minister Al-Mutairi reaffirmed Kuwait’s unwavering stance—led by its leadership, government, and people—in support of the Palestinian cause at all regional and international levels.
He reiterated Kuwait’s commitment across political, media, and humanitarian arenas to help the Palestinian people attain their full rights, including the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with international references, particularly relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, as well as achieving full membership in the United Nations.
He highlighted the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information’s dedication, through its audio, visual, and electronic channels, to closely follow the Palestinian issue and ensure that awareness of the Palestinian cause remains strong among younger generations.
He emphasized that Kuwait closely monitors developments with great interest while underscoring the importance of preserving the unity and sovereignty of Arab countries and respecting their independence and territorial integrity.
He also reiterated Kuwait’s stance in support of achieving stability in Arab countries by safeguarding their institutions and promoting dialogue as a means to fulfill the aspirations of their peoples.
