“Health Minister” launches ‘EMFLU.2’ for monitoring respiratory diseases
The ‘EMFLU.2’ electronic system operates in 12 surveillance centers across Kuwait’s governorates, ensuring full preparedness to monitor and control respiratory diseases and address potential health challenges.
The Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi, launched the ‘EMFLU.2’ electronic system within the Ministry’s Public Health Sector. The system aims to strengthen preventive measures, support informed decision-making, and ensure full preparedness for respiratory disease control and potential health challenges.
Moreover, the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs, Dr. Al-Munther Al-Hasawi, during the launch of the EMFLU.2 system, emphasized that the platform is designed to collect and share data on the spread, severity, and impact of respiratory diseases across key sites. This initiative will contribute in creating a comprehensive picture of the epidemiological situation in Kuwait.
Al-Hasawi announced that the EMFLU.2 system is currently operational in 12 surveillance centers across Kuwait, with a primary care center in each governorate or health area focused on monitoring acute respiratory infections.
The system also tracks severe respiratory cases in public hospitals, aiming to improve health response efficiency and curb the spread of respiratory diseases.
This initiative is part of the Ministry of Health’s strategy to enhance the efficiency of the health response, improve monitoring, and strengthen early intervention systems, ultimately contributing to the health and safety of the community.
