Kuwaiti airline ticket sales soar to KD 244 million in first eight months of 2024

The sales came after the issuance of over 2.3 million tickets and exclude seasonal and low-cost flights.

The number of travel and tourism offices in Kuwait rose to 590, spread across the six governorates.

Kuwait Airways is planning to open new travel destinations and increasing the number of flights to high-demand locations, such as London, where two daily flights are now available.

The Kuwait Travel and Tourism Agencies Association reported that air ticket sales in Kuwait, processed through the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) bank reconciliation system, reached approximately KD 244 million in the first eight months of 2024, according to Al Anba newspaper.

In this context, Mohammed Al-Mutairi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the association, explained that these sales followed the issuance of more than 2.3 million tickets and do not include seasonal or low-cost flights.

Al-Mutairi noted that the number of travel and tourism offices rose to 590, spread across the six governorates. He attributed this increase to the growing demand for reservations through approved offices, which offer distinctive services and travel deals.

He emphasized the association’s commitment to cooperating with local airlines, particularly Kuwait Airways, which is focused on opening new travel destinations and increasing the number of flights to high-demand locations, such as London, where two daily flights are now available.

Al-Mutairi added that Kuwait Airways’ adherence to flight schedules for both departures and arrivals has left a positive impression on passengers. Additionally, allowing passengers to check in their luggage 12 hours before departure has helped reduce waiting times and ease congestion.
