Indonesian Embassy in Kuwait celebrates Independence Day

The Embassy of Indonesia in Kuwait celebrated its Independence Day ahead of its marked day at the Daiya Youth Cultural Center in Daiya Friday. The event was attended by members of the diplomatic community, invited guests and Indonesian nationals residing in Kuwait.

Her Excellency Lena Maryana, Ambassador of Indonesia in Kuwait delivered welcome remarks higlighting on the ideals of the occasion, personal message to all Indoneian nationals in Kuwait and highlighetd on the annoucement that Indonesia’s capital city will no longer be Jakarta but ”Nusantara”, situated on the east coast of the island of Borneo, specifically in the province of East Kalimantan. Official inaguration will be on 17th of August 2024, coinciding with Indonesian Independence Day celebration. Her Excellency also thanked the members of the diplomatic community in Kuwait fort attending the event.

Among the highlights of the occasion were cultural and musical performances, line dance, regional games competitions, fun activities and more. The event also showcased local delicacies presented by about ten different stalls featured variety of Indonesian dishes and regional cuisines. Al Ansary Exchange also offered remittance with free gifts. The event ended with warding of prizes and live music.

The Embassy of Indonesia thanked everyone for coming and being part of a momentous occasion. Her Excellency also thanked local media for their support.
