VAIGAI -U13 clinched the KCC U13 T20 Championship powered by MEC Studygroup
The final showdown of the KCC U13 T20 Championship powered by MEC Studygroup took place on May 31, 2024, at the Sulaibiya Cricket Ground. The match featured VAIGAI U-13 and CCA-ICSK U13, two of the six U13 teams from Kuwait that participated in the tournament, which comprised 17 hard-fought T20 matches.
VAIGAI U-13 won the toss and opted to bat first, posting a formidable total of 139 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. The standout performer of the match was Anderson Samuvel, who delivered a scintillating batting display. He scored 48 runs off just 18 balls, smashing 8 fours and 2 sixes, achieving an extraordinary strike rate of 266.67. His explosive innings was crucial in setting a challenging target for the opposition.
In response, CCA-ICSK U13 fought valiantly but ultimately fell short, scoring 114 runs for 7 wickets in their 20 overs. As a result, VAIGAI U-13 secured a convincing victory by 25 runs in this thrilling final. Anderson Samuvel was rightfully named the Player of the finals for his outstanding performance, which was pivotal to his team’s triumph.
The presentation ceremony was conducted by Harman Sahni and saw the distribution of winners and runners-up trophies, along with awards for the best individual performances of the tournament. The ceremony was graced by KCC officials, including Mr. Qasim Ali (Kuwait National Teams Head Coach & Development Manager), Mr. Jude Sylva (Juniors Cricket Coach) and Mr. Tahir Khan (Head Coach Juniors Cricket) as well as KCC match officials. The ceremony celebrated the remarkable achievements and sportsmanship displayed throughout the championship.
