Cassation puts Kuwaiti behind bars for six years in fraud case

The Court of Cassation has sentenced a Kuwaiti to six years in prison and fined him 1.115 million dinars for defrauding investors through fictitious real estate companies and investment schemes.
The First Circuit, headed by Counselor Abdulrahman Al-Darmi, found the defendant guilty of deceiving citizens into purchasing chalets in Kuwait and investing in real estate portfolios in Britain, Germany and Switzerland through companies that were allegedly fictitious.
The ruling concerns the misappropriation of funds entrusted to him by investors in the real estate portfolios.
