Kuwait, Saudi authorities to strengthen bilateral cooperation in combating corruption

President of the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) Dr. Rana Al-Fares held talks Wednesday in Riyadh with President of the Saudi Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority Mazin Al-Kahmous to strengthen bilateral cooperation in combating corruption.

Al-Fares said the discussions focused on activating the 2022 memorandum of understanding between the two authorities and translating institutional agreements into practical exchanges of expertise in oversight, investigation, accountability, asset recovery and the protection of public funds.

She stressed that combating corruption goes beyond prevention and awareness, requiring an integrated system equipped with effective tools for detection, investigation and accountability. Al-Fares also praised the Saudi authority’s achievements in asset recovery and prosecution.

Nazaha Vice Chairman Dr. Majed Al-Daihani said the visit aimed to examine advanced regional practices and explore how effective models could be adapted to Kuwait’s legal and legislative framework. The Kuwaiti delegation, led by Al-Fares and comprising senior Nazaha officials, reviewed Saudi operational mechanisms and explored technical cooperation and alignment in investigation and financial oversight.
