45th Engineering Design Exhibition kicks off on Feb 18

Dr. Khaled Al-Hazzaa, the Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University, announced the 45th Engineering Design Exhibition will kick off on Feb 18.

The event showcases 90 projects submitted by 325 male and female engineers who recently graduated from the college. Al-Hazzaa conveyed this information during a press conference held in the college theater, attended by exhibition sponsors, reports Al-Jarida daily.

Reflecting on the challenges and hard work of the graduates over five years of study, Al-Hazzaa highlighted the goal of producing successful engineers. The exhibition features 90 engineering projects, and this year introduces the “Enginerathon” awards to recognize outstanding projects based on various indicators.

Al-Hazzaa expressed hope for the students’ projects to garner new patents and emphasized the aspiration of partners to witness remarkable achievements from Kuwaiti youth.

The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences Award, presented to the best project in each engineering specialization, focuses on design, idea, implementation methods, and the ability to execute using engineering tools. Additionally, the main prize of the exhibition, the Dr. Ahmed Al-Bishara Award, amounts to 5 thousand Kuwaiti dinars in memory of Dr. Al-Bishara.

Faisal Al-Sari’a, representing Kuwait Finance House, mentioned the Environmental Sustainability Award presented by “KFH” to promote environmental aspects.

He expressed pride in the decade-long strategic partnership with the college. Engineer Faisal Al-Atl, President of the Society of Engineers, emphasized the Society’s commitment to supporting students, presenting two awards for industry and construction and energy and water. He also announced the upcoming launch of a student headquarters and membership for students allowing participation in conferences during their studies.

Nasser Al-Sheikh, Deputy Director of the Public Authority for Youth, highlighted the presentation of the National Priorities Award, emphasizing the authority’s commitment to activating the youth’s role in society and the partnership with Kuwait University since 2014.
