Two in police custody over $100 counterfeit scam

As part of the General Department of Criminal Investigation’s ongoing efforts to combat fraud and forgery, the Anti-Forgery and Counterfeiting Crimes Department has taken into custody two Cameroonian nationals involved in fraudulent and deceptive operations.

Investigations revealed that the suspects were offering counterfeit $100 bills at half their face value, exploiting victims by promoting the illusion that the fake bills could be exchanged for Kuwaiti dinars, promising false profits, reports Al-Jarida daily.

A carefully coordinated ambush operation led to the suspects being caught red-handed, with incriminating evidence found in their possession confirming their involvement.

The necessary legal procedures are underway to refer the individuals to the competent authorities for further action.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to pursuing anyone who attempts to undermine national security, and it urged both citizens and residents to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes aimed at illegal gains.
