Thunderstorms and fog loom over Kuwait’s weather forecast

The cloud cover will gradually decrease, along with diminishing chances of rain, as a high-pressure system advances. Fog formation is expected, with winds shifting from variable directions to northwesterly, remaining light to moderate in speed.

• The expected maximum temperature this morning ranges between 19 and 21°C, while the sea state will be light to moderate, with waves occasionally rising between 2 and 6 feet.

Friday evening is expected to be cold, with variable southeasterly winds at light to moderate speeds of 8 to 30 km/h. There is a chance of fog formation in some areas, along with scattered clouds.

 

The Meteorology Department forecasts that a low-pressure system will affect the country, gradually weakening by Thursday afternoon. This will bring a humid and moderate air mass, with moderate to active southeasterly winds and chances of scattered light rain, occasionally thundery in some areas, Al Rai newspaper reported.

The Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, told the Kuwait News Agency that cloud cover will gradually decrease, along with diminishing chances of rain, as a high-pressure system advances. He noted that fog formation is likely this evening, with winds shifting from variable directions to northwesterly, remaining light to moderate in speed.

He added that today’s weather is expected to be moderate and partly to mostly cloudy, with southeasterly to easterly winds that are light to moderate, occasionally becoming active at speeds ranging from 12 to 42 km/h. There is a chance of scattered rain, sometimes thundery, along with the possibility of fog in the evening.

Regarding temperatures, he explained that the expected maximum this morning ranges between 19 and 21°C, while the sea state will be light to moderate, with waves occasionally rising between 2 and 6 feet.

For the evening, he stated that the weather will be cold, with light to moderate northeasterly to northwesterly winds at speeds of 8 to 30 km/h and a chance of fog in some areas. The expected minimum temperatures will range between 9 and 11°C, and the sea state will be light to moderate, with waves between 1 and 4 feet.

On Friday, he said, daytime weather will be warm, with northwesterly to variable winds at light to moderate speeds ranging from 8 to 30 km/h. The expected maximum temperatures will be between 23 and 25°C, while the sea state will be light to moderate, with waves between 1 and 4 feet.

Friday evening is expected to be cold, with variable southeasterly winds at light to moderate speeds of 8 to 30 km/h. There is a chance of fog formation in some areas, along with scattered clouds. Minimum temperatures will range between 9 and 11°C, and the sea state will be light to moderate, with waves between 1 and 3 feet.

Al-Ali added that Saturday will be warm and partly cloudy, with southeasterly winds shifting to northwesterly, light to moderate in speed, occasionally becoming active at 12 to 45 km/h, causing dust in open areas. The expected maximum temperatures will range between 22 and 24°C, while the sea state will be light to moderate, with waves sometimes rising between 2 and 6 feet.

On Saturday evening, the weather will be cool to cold, with light to moderate southeasterly to northwesterly winds at speeds of 8 to 38 km/h. Some scattered clouds are expected. The minimum temperatures will range between 10 and 12°C, and the sea state will be light to moderate, with waves between 2 and 5 feet.
