The development of roads and intersections serving the new passenger terminal at Kuwait International Airport will improve connectivity and strengthen Kuwait’s role as a regional air transport hub.

• The project aims to develop the Al-Maqwa Road network, adding intersections, bridges, tunnels, and upgrading lighting to accommodate increased traffic from the airport expansion, ensuring safety, efficiency, and sustainable infrastructure through 2030.
Sources at the Public Authority for Roads and Transportation expect the signing of public tender No. H T 268, for the construction, completion, development, and maintenance of roads and intersections serving the new passenger terminal at Kuwait International Airport on Al-Maqwa Road, to take place after Eid al-Fitr, once all required paperwork for the contract is finalized, Al Jarida newspaper reported.
The sources explained that the project aims to develop the road network on Al-Maqwa Road and the surrounding area to accommodate the expected increase in traffic resulting from the expansion of the new airport. It has been designed to handle traffic volumes through 2030, while ensuring the highest safety standards and providing adequate traffic services.
The sources added that the project includes the construction of new intersections, bridges, and tunnels to improve traffic flow, as well as upgrades to the lighting and drainage systems for the surrounding roads. These improvements will ensure the sustainability of the infrastructure and provide easy, efficient access to the new airport.
