Signing of contract marks significant milestone in water management

The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy has taken a significant step towards enhancing Kuwait’s water infrastructure by signing a consulting invitation contract with Aldar Engineering Office. The contract aims to prepare studies and documents related to the general water plan in Kuwait.

Engineer Maha Al-Asousi, the acting Undersecretary of the Ministry, highlighted that the contract encompasses several strategic water projects, including the establishment of water distribution complexes in the Wafra and Naayem regions. Additionally, it involves the development of the Al-Ahmadi and Sabhan water distribution complexes to increase their storage and distribution capacity, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The primary focus will be on developing the Sabhan distribution complex, considering its critical role in meeting future water needs. The general plan for water in Kuwait will determine the additional capacity required at each site to meet future demands until 2040.

Furthermore, the contract includes studies on connecting the southern and northern water networks through the Wafra Water Distribution Complex. This project will enhance the ministry’s ability to distribute water efficiently across Kuwait, ensuring sufficient supply to all regions.

In addition to infrastructure development, the contract emphasizes the importance of training national cadres to enhance their skills and expertise at all stages of water project implementation.

Overall, the signing of this consulting invitation contract marks a significant milestone in Kuwait’s efforts to improve its water management infrastructure and ensure sustainable water supply for its citizens.
