The Ministry of Education has announced that a new batch of individuals who obtained post-secondary degrees through fraudulent means have been referred to the public prosecution.

This latest move is part of an ongoing crackdown on academic fraud within the country’s education system, reports Al-Qabas newspaper.

Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Adel Al-Adwani, confirmed that the ministry’s investigation committee had recommended referring these cases to the prosecution.

The individuals involved are accused of submitting falsified documents and altering the details of their academic qualifications in order to have their degrees recognized.

In a statement, the Ministry of Education emphasized that these referrals are part of a series of stringent measures aimed at enforcing the law and maintaining the integrity of the education sector.

The ministry further revealed that additional cases involving fraudulent degrees are set to be referred to the prosecution in the near future.

Dr. Al-Adwani stressed the government’s unwavering commitment to combating corruption and reforming the education system. He emphasized that the ministry will not tolerate any form of academic fraud and will pursue all those involved with the utmost severity.

The minister highlighted the importance of safeguarding the reputation of Kuwait’s education system and ensuring a fair and transparent environment for all.

Dr. Al-Adwani pointed out that this is a national duty, a religious obligation, and a matter of national security. By addressing this issue, the ministry is working to build a brighter future for the younger generations based on merit and competence.
