Royal Thai Embassy organizes “Medical, Healthcare and Wellness Networking”

The Royal Thai Embassy in Kuwait organizes “Thailand Medical, Healthcare and Wellness Networking 2024” concurrent with the 13th Kuwait Medical Conference and Exhibition, on 6 – 7 June 2024 at the Boulevard Ballroom in Salmiyah.

In His opening remarks His Excellency Ekapol Poolpipat, Ambassador of Thailand in Kuwait highlighted Thailand’s efforts to maintain the world’s class medical and wellness tourist destinations and service. In 2023, 20 million tourists visited Thailand which included 79,255 Kuwait, a substantial increase from 44,334 Kuwaitis in 2022.

The Royal Thai government has committed to promote medical tourism as one of  the “New Engine of Growth” and Thailand as the International Medical Hub.

Sutipa Teerapatsakul, Deputy Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand in Dubai highlighted that Thailand attributes its growth in medical tourism due to its high standard medical care, affordability and accessibility, world class hospitality.  Teerapatsakul added that medical tourists prefer Thailand because of its customized medical packages, advanced technologies and cultural linguistic compatibility.

The event provides a platform for speakers from 5 Thai hospitals namely; Dr. Witit Artavatkun of Piyavate Hospital, Dr. Phamornsak of Sukumvit Hopspital, Dr. Anan Salem of  BPRK International Hospital, Mr. Achof Yumyuan of Bangkok Hospital, Mr. Piriya Atisook of Bangkok Hospitals in Siriroj and Phuket and Mr. Hisham Huneidi of MK International Traidng Company. Each speaker provided update information of their excellence in medical, health and wellness expertise and services.

Therefore, Kuwaiti partners wish to rediscover Thailand’s medical and wellness services and tourism and enhance their business relations with Thai partners. Currently, there are 62 Thai clinics and hospitals accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI), the worldwide accreditation organization for healthcare.
