Rising temperatures in Kuwait spark harvests and headaches

Temperatures in the country are climbing, rice and wheat are being planted and harvested, and cases of colds and dust are common, according to the Al-Ajari Scientific Center.

The Al-Ajari Scientific Center has announced that the country is currently in the Dhar’an season, which began on April 3 with “Tali’al-Muqaddam” and will continue for 13 days, according to the Arabic daily Al Qabas.

The center added in a statement that Tali’al-Muqaddam is a pair of bright stars and the third of the spring rising stars, also known as the second hot spring. During this period, temperatures rise higher than before, rice and wheat are planted and harvested, and occurrences of headaches, colds, and dust are common.

It further noted that during the Dhiraa period, temperatures continue to rise, and the weather remains unstable. This period is marked by Sarayat—a distinctive feature characterized by sudden changes in weather. It also represents a transitional phase during which the sun’s angle is high. A cool breeze often blows at night, and spring geese migrate during this time.
