Jaguar Land Rover has temporarily suspended shipments of its UK-manufactured vehicles to the United States in response to the economic impact of President Donald Trumps 25% import tariffs, The Times reported, according to the Arabic daily Al Qabas.

The British carmaker, one of the largest in the country, will begin the suspension on Monday as part of efforts to manage rising costs caused by the 25% import tariffs imposed by the US president.

According to the newspaper, this month-long move is just one of several measures being prepared by the carmaker, which employs 38,000 people in Britain, as it continues to assess the impact of Trump’s trade tariffs on its business.

The newspaper estimated that Jaguar Land Rover currently has a two-month stock of vehicles in the US that are not subject to the new tariffs.

The halt in shipments is expected to heighten concerns about the impact of the tariffs on the British car industry, which directly employs 200,000 people.

Data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders shows that the United States is the second-largest importer of British-made cars after the European Union, accounting for nearly 20% of exports.

Jaguar Land Rover, one of Britain’s largest manufacturers by volume, sells 400,000 vehicles annually—including the Range Rover Sport, Defender, and other models. Exports to the US make up nearly a quarter of these sales.
