“Public Works Minister” announces extensive major road maintenances across Kuwait

The Minister of Public Works, Dr. Noura Al-Mishaan, announced the continuation of extensive road maintenance work across Kuwait’s six governorates.

Importantly, this road maintenance initiative is part of new maintenance contracts for highways and internal roads, which include 18 major road maintenance projects aimed at improving the country’s infrastructure.

In a press statement on Sunday, 29 December, Al-Mishaan emphasized the importance of completing all the maintenance works swiftly, ensuring the required quality and efficiency. She highlighted the need for strict adherence to the approved technical specifications and the established timeline.

Al-Mishaan stated that her directives to initiate extensive road maintenance work are in response to the recommendations of His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah. This initiative is part of the government’s commitment to maintaining and repairing the country’s infrastructure.

Regarding prioritizing the schedule, Al-Mishaan added that road maintenance work across the six governorates will begin in the most affected areas, and will gradually move to the less impacted ones.

Moreover, the maintenance work will be closely supervised and monitored. Teams from the Ministry of Public Works will oversee the implementation, and a committee has been formed to select supervising engineers and conduct tests to ensure their effective management.

Al-Mishaan called on the relevant authorities to coordinate efforts in resolving pending issues related to road maintenance work, emphasizing that the road maintenance and repair project is a top priority for the political leadership.

Furthermore, Al-Mishaan also urged the residents of the six governorates; to cooperate with the relevant authorities in ensuring timely completion of the work, especially as some roads will be closed during the maintenance process.

Al-Mishaan expressed her appreciation for the high directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, acknowledging their support for and commitment to implementing road maintenance projects. These efforts are aimed at achieving a robust infrastructure as part of the vision for “New Kuwait 2035.”
