Ponnani Community celebrates Kuwait’s National Day with grand festivities at “Sangamam 2025”
The Ponnani Cultural World Foundation Kuwait Unit, celebrated Kuwait’s National Day with great enthusiasm at “Ponnani Sangamam 2025,” held at Shuwaikh Baladiya Park. Running from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the event brought together the community to honor national traditions and enjoy a vibrant day filled with cultural performances and festive activities.
Ashraf U. inaugurated the day’s programs, setting the stage for a series of cultural and sporting events. President P. Ashraf presided over the function, which attracted a large gathering of Ponnani community members residing in Kuwait, adding to the festive spirit of the celebration.
The day was packed with exciting sports and entertainment competitions, organized and led by the foundation’s executive and women members.
The highlight of the sporting events was the fiercely contested tug-of-war. In the men’s category, the Fahaheel region team claimed first place, while the Jaleeb region team secured second.
The women’s competition was just as intense, with the team led by Swarga Sunil emerging victorious and the team led by Femina Ashraf finishing as runners-up.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, honoring the winners of various competitions. Adding to the excitement, a raffle coupon draw was held, where lucky attendees walked away with exciting prizes, bringing a joyful end to the celebrations.
Program Convener K. K. Abid warmly welcomed all attendees, setting a gracious tone for the event. M. V. Mustafa later expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of “Ponnani Sangamam 2025.”
The celebration not only highlighted the strong sense of community and cultural pride among Ponnani residents in Kuwait but also paid tribute to the spirit of Kuwait’s National Day.
