
The organizing committee of the fourth Gulf Games Doha 2026, during a press conference held Sunday to outline final preparations, said it is ready to host the tournament from May 11 to 22.
Officials unveiled the event’s mascot, inspired by the desert lynx to reflect the Gulf environment, along with the slogan “One Gulf… One Heart,” symbolizing unity and shared identity among GCC nations.
The upcoming edition will see broad participation, with more than 1,074 male and female athletes competing across 19 different sports, underscoring the growing scale of the regional event.
According to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al Thani, Chairman of the Marketing and Communications Committee, confirmed that all logistical arrangements have been completed.
He added that a comprehensive promotional campaign will be launched to ensure strong public engagement, with the official opening ceremony scheduled for next Monday at the Al Shaqab Indoor Arena.
Najla Al-Khayarin, head of the Qatari administrative delegation, said the host nation will participate with more than 300 athletes aiming to deliver performances that reflect the stature of Qatari sport.
Meanwhile, Maryam Al Mansouri, Head of Marketing and Sponsorship, noted that the visual identity and mascot were carefully selected to blend sporting excellence with the rich cultural heritage shared across the Gulf.
