No Kuwaiti will be wronged, but harm to the nation will not be tolerated, says Sheikh Fahd
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef Al-Sabah has assured citizens that no Kuwaiti will face injustice under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, while stressing that actions harmful to the country will be addressed firmly.
His remarks came following the Supreme Nationality Committee’s decision to revoke the citizenship of individuals who had acquired Kuwaiti nationality under Article One but were found to have engaged in activities deemed detrimental to Kuwait after failing to reverse their conduct despite repeated opportunities.
Sheikh Fahd said Kuwaiti citizens remain protected under the Amir’s commitment to justice, fairness and the rule of law.
He stressed that citizens are secure in their lives, property and nationality, but said no one should expect the state to overlook actions that damage Kuwait’s interests or reputation.
He referred to activities that allegedly included campaigns against the country and calls for demonstrations outside Kuwaiti embassies abroad.
Sheikh Fahd noted that Kuwaiti citizenship is highly valued because of the rights and benefits it offers, making it one of the most sought-after nationalities in the region.
He added that Kuwait does not deserve disloyalty from its citizens, saying the state could not remain silent in the face of actions that undermine the nation.
He said the Supreme Nationality Committee concluded that those involved were subject to the provisions of Article 14 of the Nationality Law, resulting in the revocation of their Kuwaiti citizenship after they failed to take opportunities to correct their course.
