23 food safety violations recorded during Ardhiya, Qurain inspections
The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition has issued 23 citations and destroyed 48 kilograms of food during two inspection campaigns targeting food establishments in Ardhiya Industrial Area and Qurain Markets.
The authority said the Ardhiya campaign, conducted by the Farwaniya Governorate Inspection Department and Al-Rai Food Inspection Center, resulted in the destruction of 48 kilograms of food and the issuance of seven violations.
The violations included breaches of health and public hygiene requirements, expired health licenses, handling food without the required health certificates and employing workers without valid health certificates. The authority said legal action was taken against the violators.
During a separate inspection campaign in the Qurain Markets, conducted in cooperation with relevant government agencies, 16 violation reports were issued and a number of food items were seized. The campaign covered 35 food establishments, with violations including the sale of food unfit for human consumption and operating food establishments without first obtaining a health license from the authority.
Other violations involved failure to comply with health and hygiene requirements and handling food without valid health certificates. The authority said it would continue inspection campaigns and tours in cooperation with the relevant authorities to ensure compliance with health standards and safeguard food safety and consumer health.
