Tuesday, members of the United Nations Security Council observed one minute of silence to mourn the death of the late Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God rest his soul.
United Nations spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in a press statement, “His Highness the late Amir was a distinguished statesman who contributed to the flourishing of understanding and cooperation in the Gulf region and beyond and sought to strengthen relations in support of peace and stability in the region and around the world.”
It is noteworthy that the United Nations lowered its flag at half-mast, Monday, at its main headquarters to mourn the death of His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God rest his soul, in the presence of the Permanent Representative of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations, Ambassador Tariq Al-Bannai, along with members of the Permanent Delegation of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations.
