As the government intensifies its efforts to crack down on forged certificates and their holders across all state sectors, Al-Qabas newspaper has learned that a new batch of forged certificates is set to be referred to the prosecution soon.
A government source revealed that the Council of Ministers has instructed ministries to urgently submit their reports on forged certificates, a matter that remains at the top of the government’s priority list.
The source added that the council emphasized the importance of submitting lists detailing forged certificates, including those who failed to submit their academic credentials, did not update their data, provided incorrect information during the recently established period, or did not comply with the Council of Ministers’ decision on this issue.
The source confirmed that the government is determined to pursue and expose certificate forgers, noting that ample time and deadlines had been provided for the submission of certificates and credentials. The source stressed that those who fail to comply will face severe measures and penalties.
The source explained that the decision to refer any certificate to the prosecution is not made until after a thorough and careful review. Anyone found to be a forger will have their case referred to the prosecution for the necessary legal actions and penalties.
The source emphasized that no case will be overlooked, and the certificates of individuals affiliated with the private sector will be examined in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education. Those who manipulated their studies to obtain a certificate will be exposed by verifying their attendance at foreign institutions or their continued studies.
The source concluded by noting that the issue of forged certificates receives full government support and remains a top priority, alongside other important matters like forgery cases.
It is noteworthy that the upcoming batch of forged certificates and their holders being referred to the prosecution follows the earlier referral of previous batches. This is part of the government’s efforts to protect public funds, ensure the integrity and credibility of the educational system, and uphold principles of trust and justice, addressing any threats to the system’s integrity.
Dr. Adel Al-Adwani, the Minister of Education and former Minister of Higher Education, adopted the recommendations of the Inquiry Committee formed at the Ministry of Education regarding high school certificates issued by Arab countries. These certificates, ratified by the General Directorate of Special Education, were referred to the Public Prosecution, with the equation being withdrawn and the concerned authorities directed to correct the procedure.
The most prominent motivations for auditing certificates:
- Preserving and protecting public funds.
