MoI receives 11 shrapnel reports from defensive interceptions in past 24 hours

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday that Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams dealt with 11 reports related to falling shrapnel resulting from defensive interception operations over the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of reports since the beginning of the Iranian aggression on Kuwait to 640, said the Director General of the General Department of Security Relations and Media and official spokesperson for the Ministry, Brigadier General Nasser Bouslaib
during a press briefing.

During the briefing, Bouslaib presented a visual presentation outlining the efforts of teams in dealing with reports related to falling shrapnel or objects outside the threat zone.

He pointed out the extension of the exceptional deadline for surrendering unlicensed weapons, ammunition and explosives for an additional week, until Wednesday April 8, comes in light of the notable turnout for handovers and to allow everyone the opportunity to benefit from it and take the initiative to correct their legal status, in a manner that enhances security and preserves public safety.

Bouslaib stated that the handover process is carried out smoothly through all police stations, “without recording personal data or taking legal action during the grace period,” stressing that the Ministry of Interior urges the public to promptly take advantage of the initiative and affirms that the law will be enforced firmly against violators once the deadline expires.

He reiterated the Ministry’s warning against being misled by rumors or circulating unverified information, affirming that it monitors content published on various social media platforms and deals with the sources and promoters of such rumors in accordance with legal procedures.

Bouslaib also urged the public to obtain information from official and accredited sources to avoid legal accountability and to maintain security and stability. – Kuna
