Kuwait FM holds urgent talks with UN nuclear watchdog amid regional tensions
Talks focus on nuclear safety and strengthening cooperation with international agency
Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah held a phone call on Thursday with Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, to discuss the latest regional developments.
During the call, the minister praised the agency’s professional and technical role in supporting the peaceful use of nuclear energy and reinforcing global standards of nuclear safety and security.
The discussions also covered ways to enhance cooperation between Kuwait and the IAEA, particularly in areas related to nuclear safety and regulatory frameworks.
The talks come amid ongoing regional tensions, highlighting the importance of international coordination to ensure safety, stability, and adherence to global nuclear standards.
