Ministry warns against misinformation, advocates for official sources
Lafi Al-Subaie, the Assistant Undersecretary for Press, Publishing, and Publications at the Ministry of Information, called on all types of media to adhere to professionalism and ensure credibility and national interest.
The Ministry of Information emphasized the importance of obtaining information from official sources and cautioned against spreading rumors and misinformation, the Al-Anba newspaper has reported.
Lafi Al-Subaie, the Assistant Undersecretary for Press, Publishing, and Publications at the Ministry of Information, called on all types of media to adhere to professionalism and ensure credibility and national interest.
Al-Subaie stated, “Some visual, print, and online media outlets have recently disseminated news contrary to reality regarding the procedures of ministries and government bodies, rendering them liable for legal consequences.”
Al-Subaie emphasized the responsibility of everyone for any incorrect news published, transmitted, or rebroadcasted, warning that the ministry will refer violators to the Media Violations Committee for legal actions without prior notice.
