Ministry of Commerce increases staff presence to 50 per cent
Civil Service Commission approves request based on work requirements and public interest

The Civil Service Commission has approved a request by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to increase the number of employees required to be present at the ministry workplace to 50 per cent, in line with public interest and work needs, with the mechanism for rotation among employees to be determined by ministry officials.
The approval came after reviewing the ministry’s request and the justifications submitted regarding the proper functioning and management of operations, in accordance with the circular that sets the percentage of employees present at government workplaces at no more than 30 per cent, as per the Civil Service Council decision, which also stipulates that any increase requires coordination with the Civil Service Commission.
The ministry had requested the following:
First: The number of employees present at the workplace should not exceed 50 per cent of the total workforce, with this percentage distributed on a rotation system between employees in two groups A and B, following a schedule of one working day followed by one day off, ensuring continuity of work, with the rotation mechanism determined on a daily basis.
Second: All other provisions of Administrative Circular No. 6 of 2026, issued on 18 March, remain in effect until further notice.
Third: This circular comes into effect starting 14 April until further notice.
