Military and civil institutions review crisis management framework and procedures

Meeting focuses on inter-agency coordination and joint government action plans

Brigadier General Nabil Al-Shatti, Secretary of Civil Defense at the Ministry of Interior, announced that a coordination meeting was held this evening under the chairmanship of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef. Present during the meeting were representatives from 32 ministries and government institutions.

Al-Shatti told Kuwait TV that such meetings are convened regularly when necessary, and serve to ensure effective inter-agency coordination.

An organized agenda was set to meet the requirements of joint government action, particularly in areas related to national preparedness and emergency response.

The meeting, which included both military and civil institutions, focused on reviewing the framework for committee operations, clarifying session procedures, and evaluating the work completed by government entities in recent periods. It also addressed ongoing preparations, should circumstances require activation of emergency protocols.

Al-Shatti noted that each participant submitted its updated crisis and emergency plan, reflecting significant effort and alignment with directives of state leadership and Kuwait’s national emergency strategy. The meeting also reviewed potential risks and emerging challenges.

“This is the essence of the committee’s role in both peace and crisis,” he said, “where plans are regularly reviewed and improved.”

He concluded by reassuring the public that, “These periodic meetings are designed to enhance Kuwait’s national capabilities in managing crises and emergencies. Everything is proceeding excellently.”
