Lumbini Samaj wins 13th annual volleyball tournament 2026

  • Lumbini Samaj Nepal-Kuwait has been crowned champion of the 13th Annual Celebration and Open Volleyball Tournament 2026, bringing together 11 Nepali community teams in Kuwait in a display of sporting spirit, unity and cultural engagement.

Lumbini Samaj Nepal-Kuwait has emerged as the winner of the 13th Annual Celebration and Open Volleyball Tournament 2026, organised by Lumbini Samaj Nepal-Kuwait, after a competitive series featuring 11 teams from across the Nepali community in Kuwait.

The tournament was held in two phases on June 12 and 19 at the Technical College grounds in Abu Halifa, drawing strong participation and community support. Baglung Samaj finished as runners-up, while Magar Samaj Kuwait secured third place.

The opening ceremony was attended by Nepal’s Ambassador to Kuwait Ghanshyam Lamsal, members of the embassy family, NRNA ICC Secretary Sujan KC, NRNA Kuwait Presidents Bikash Bahadur Singh and Dil Kumar Pakhrin, and Federation of Nepali Journalists Kuwait Branch President Raj Malla, along with representatives of various social, cultural and political organisations.

The event was sponsored by Al Mulla Exchange and featured teams representing different Nepali organisations, reflecting strong community engagement and sporting enthusiasm.

Organisers said the tournament was conducted in a disciplined and sportsmanlike atmosphere with the aim of promoting unity, brotherhood, mutual harmony and sports culture within the Nepali community in Kuwait.

The organising committee expressed appreciation to sponsors, participating teams, volunteers and the wider Nepali community for their support in making the annual event a success.
