The Italian creative industry, worth over €50 billion annually, is driven by the passion and loyalty of foreign customers, including Kuwaitis, with its value constantly on the rise.
His Excellency Lorenzo Morini, the Ambassador of Italy to Kuwait, declared that “Italian fashion, cars, jewelry, and furniture are highly appreciated by Kuwaitis, emphasizing that Italian design holds a unique and cherished position in Kuwait.”
Ambassador Morini made these remarks during his speech at the opening of the Italian shoe design exhibition at the “360 Mall,” coinciding with the “Made in Italy” day.
He spoke in the presence of a large gathering of foreign ambassadors and diplomats accredited to the country, as well as a sizable audience of citizens, particularly fans of Italian shoes. Italian melodies, played by a saxophone player, added to the ambiance of the event.
After offering the audience a glimpse of the excellence of Italian industry and craftsmanship, describing them as ‘amazing works of art,’ the Italian ambassador stated: “I am convinced that through this exhibition, we will enhance the allure of distinguished Italian products and thereby contribute to strengthening economic and cultural relations between Italy and Kuwait.”
He continued, “In fact, design teaches us to open ourselves to innovation, without fear and without bias. Innovation depends on the freedom and courage to take risks and explore new paths, and at the same time, it is built on the ability to combine tradition, creativity, beauty, and achievement.”
He added, “It is no coincidence that design is the cornerstone of the Made in Italy concept because design permeates the terrain of Italian culture, art, thought, and social life. In other words, the success of Made in Italy depends largely on the wisdom of craftsmanship, the spirit of experimentation, and everything, on the beauty and emotion applied to the objects of our daily lives.”
Emphasizing that “Italy is a country with few natural resources,” Ambassador Morini pointed out that “culture and creativity are the primary sources of prosperity for the Italian people,” noting that “the Italian creative industry is currently a driving force, producing an economic value exceeding 50 billion euros annually. This figure is continuously increasing, thanks to the passion and loyalty of foreign customers, including the Kuwaiti public.”
He explained, “Immediately after my arrival in Kuwait, I realized that Italian design has a special place in this country. Italian fashion, cars, jewelry, and furniture, to name a few, are well-known and highly appreciated by the Kuwaiti people. I am convinced that through this exhibition, we will provide a new luster to this passion for premium Italian products, thus contributing to strengthening economic and cultural relations between Italy and Kuwait.”
