Kuwait’s new traffic law spurs 71% decline in violations
The Ministry of Interior attributed the drop in violations recorded by automated surveillance cameras to drivers’ compliance with the new amendments to the Traffic Law and their cooperation in promoting traffic awareness.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed a notable drop in violations recorded by automated surveillance cameras on the first day of the new traffic law’s implementation, reflecting efforts to boost road safety and traffic discipline, reported Arabic daily Al Qabas.
Statistics showed a 71% decrease in the number of violations recorded compared to April 15.
The violations included not wearing seat belts, using handheld mobile phones while driving, ignoring lane markings, and making illegal U-turns.
The Ministry of Interior attributed this decline to drivers’ compliance with the new amendments to the Traffic Law and their cooperation in promoting traffic awareness. It also praised citizens and residents for their commitment to following the rules.
