Kuwait’s ‘National Sports Day’ 2nd edition set for 20th February

The Supreme Organizing Committee of the National Sports Day has announced the second edition of this community sports event, set to take place on February 20, 2025.

The event aims to encourage members of the Kuwaiti community to engage in physical activities, fostering a culture of health and well-being. The initiative seeks to promote not only physical fitness but also mental and psychological wellness.

In a statement released on Sunday evening, the General Authority for Sports announced that the first meeting of the committee, chaired by the Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, took place recently. During the meeting, discussions focused on proposed ideas and plans for the activities and events surrounding the upcoming National Sports Day.

The meeting outlined the responsibilities of the sub-committees under the Supreme Committee and appointed their respective heads. These included the Quality Control, Media and Marketing, Volunteers, Activities and Events, Logistics, and Systems Committees, along with the Public Relations Committee.

Moreover, in the meeting the Sports for All Federation was tasked with taking the necessary actions under the supervision of the Supreme Committee to address the needs and requirements of National Sports Day, in accordance with the regulations governing the work of the sports sector for all.

The Supreme Organizing Committee’s commitment to organizing unique events on National Sports Day, aiming to involve the largest possible number of community members across all age groups in an exceptional collective activity. This initiative seeks to raise awareness of sports culture within the community and encourage making sports a part of everyday life.
