Kuwaiti charitable organizations continue to strengthen the country’s reputation as a global humanitarian leader through impactful development projects in education, healthcare, clean water, and community development, while earning international recognition for their efforts.
This week, Kuwait’s humanitarian work gained further prominence as several charitable organizations announced major achievements, ranging from prestigious international awards to the implementation of sustainable projects benefiting thousands of people across Asia and the Middle East.
The Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nouri Charitable Society received the Medal of the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz Republic (Parliament of Kyrgyzstan) in recognition of its humanitarian and development initiatives in the Central Asian nation.
Abdul Latif Al-Dawwas, Director of Resources and Media at the society, described the award as recognition of Kuwait’s humanitarian role, reflecting both government and public support for charitable work. He said the society’s projects have significantly improved the lives of thousands of beneficiaries in Kyrgyzstan while strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
Al-Dawwas affirmed the society’s commitment to expanding its humanitarian partnerships and implementing sustainable development initiatives with the continued support of Kuwaiti donors.
Meanwhile, the International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) highlighted its continued investment in education through the “Binaa” (Building) project, which supported 35 outstanding Jordanian and Palestinian university students from low-income families in Jordan.
According to Ibrahim Al-Badr, Deputy Director General for Projects at the IICO, the initiative, valued at more than 149,000 Jordanian dinars, provides tuition assistance, living expenses, career guidance, leadership training, and personal development programs aimed at preparing future community leaders.
The second phase of the project introduced the “Building Guide,” a comprehensive educational framework designed to strengthen students academically, socially, psychologically, and professionally. Several participants have since achieved academic excellence while taking part in conferences, volunteer work, and professional training programs.
The organization plans to expand the initiative through partnerships with universities and educational institutions across Jordan, the Kuwait News Agency reports.
In another major humanitarian effort, the Al-Safa Humanitarian Society continued implementing water projects in countries facing severe shortages of safe drinking water.
Chairman Mohammed Al-Shaya said the society completed 15 water network projects in Kyrgyzstan during the first half of 2026, in addition to constructing 156 freshwater wells across eight countries, including 97 surface wells and 59 artesian wells, providing clean and sustainable water to thousands of beneficiaries.
Al-Shaya noted that access to clean water helps reduce waterborne diseases, improves public health, and supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to clean water, sanitation, and health.
The latest initiatives underscore Kuwait’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian action and sustainable development, with charitable organizations continuing to deliver life-changing assistance to vulnerable communities around the world through the generous support of the Kuwaiti people.
