Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, affirmed that advancing charitable work in Kuwait to meet global and regional standards is a key priority for the ministry, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, reported Arabic daily Al Qabas.
During a coordination meeting with the Chairman of the National Committee for Combating Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing, and representatives from various government bodies—including the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior, and the Central Bank of Kuwait—Al-Huwailah emphasized the importance of aligning charitable work with global developments.
She stated that the meeting supported national efforts to enhance the charitable sector in accordance with existing regulations of the Ministry of Social Affairs, reinforcing Kuwait’s vision as a center for humanitarian work.
The minister added that the goal is to localize and develop charitable initiatives by involving all organizations in an automated linkage system with relevant oversight authorities. This integrated approach aims to strengthen transparency and uphold the integrity of operations across the charitable sector.
She noted that the Ministry of Social Affairs is actively working to highlight Kuwait’s role in advancing the charitable work system in line with the sector’s growth. This is being achieved through the presentation of a comprehensive study based on specific guidelines that support the monitoring and regulation of charitable activities, thereby enhancing Kuwait’s standing in this field.
