Kuwait stresses need for coordinated efforts to meet 2030 development targets

Kuwait has stressed that achieving the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development requires fair, innovative and coordinated global action, along with a secure environment that allows countries to pursue development without threats to sovereignty or harm to civilians and vital infrastructure.
The statement was delivered by Minister Plenipotentiary Faisal Al-Enezi, Acting Chargé d’Affaires of Kuwait’s delegation to the United Nations, during the general debate of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2026 held at the UN headquarters.
Al-Enezi said the forum comes at a critical time, with only four years remaining before the deadline for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, making it essential for the international community to intensify efforts and strengthen cooperation.
He emphasized that sustainable development cannot be achieved without a stable international environment that supports economic and social progress and enables nations to implement their development plans effectively.
Kuwait reaffirmed its commitment to international cooperation and collective action aimed at advancing sustainable development and ensuring that global development efforts benefit societies while respecting national sovereignty and security.
