Kuwait signs two major contracts to boost services in Al-Mutlaa, Saad Al-Abdullah residential cities

The Public Authority for Housing Welfare announced on Wednesday the signing of two significant contracts aimed at enhancing infrastructure and social services in Kuwait’s key residential developments — Al-Mutlaa and Saad Al-Abdullah cities.

In a press statement, Acting Director General Rashid Al-Enezi said the initiatives come as part of the authority’s broader strategy to support citizens’ housing needs and improve quality of life in line with the country’s long-term development goals, reports Al-Rai daily.

The first contract focuses on infrastructure upgrades in Al-Mutlaa Residential City, particularly the implementation of the final asphalt surface layer.

The scope includes completion and maintenance of asphalt roads, pedestrian walkways, curbstones, tiles, and sidewalk markings. The contract is valued at 19.588 million dinars (approximately $64 million) and is scheduled for completion within 730 days.

The second contract pertains to the construction of a comprehensive youth center in Block 2 of the Saad Al-Abdullah Residential City.

The center will consist of seven diverse buildings, including a gymnasium, an indoor swimming pool, squash and tennis courts, a bowling hall, an activity center and theater, an administrative building, a rest house for trainers, and a mosque. This contract is valued at 7.087 million dinars (around $23 million), also with a completion timeline of 730 days.

“These projects underscore our commitment to developing integrated residential communities that support social well-being and align with the pillars of the New Kuwait 2035 vision,” Al-Enezi stated.

He highlighted that both contracts will directly contribute to raising the standard of living and offering essential services for families and youth in newly developed areas.

The Public Authority for Housing Welfare reaffirmed its dedication to fast-tracking development across all housing projects and ensuring that infrastructure keeps pace with the growing demands of Kuwaiti society.
