Kuwait shooters strike gold as nation racks up medals at Gulf Games Doha 2026

Kuwait secured several medals on Tuesday during the eighth day of competitions at the Fourth Gulf Games, Doha 2026, which continues until May 22.

In shooting competitions, Kuwait’s women’s shooting team won the gold medal in the women’s trap team event, while shooter Shahad Al-Hawal claimed the gold medal in the women’s individual trap competition.

Shooter Abdulrahman Al-Faihan also captured the gold medal in the men’s individual trap event, while Kuwait’s men’s trap team, consisting of Abdulrahman Al-Faihan, Khaled Al-Mudhaf, and Talal Al-Turqi, earned the silver medal.

In archery, Abdullah Malallah and Hanan Al-Mayas secured third place and the bronze medal in the mixed Olympic bow team category.

In snooker, Kuwait’s team comprising Ahmed Abl, Ammar Taqi, and Omar Al-Hajji won the bronze medal in the men’s team event, while Qatar took silver and the UAE claimed gold.

In padel, Kuwait’s women’s team defeated Saudi Arabia 3-0 and will face the UAE today (Wednesday). Meanwhile, Kuwait’s men’s team lost to the UAE by the same scoreline, 3-0.

In handball, Kuwait suffered a narrow 25-23 defeat against Saudi Arabia.
