‘Kuwait Petroleum International’ wins bids to operate Europe’s two largest fuel stations

Shafi Al-Ajmi, CEO of Kuwait International Petroleum Company, announced on Saturday that the company has won two new auctions for the rights to operate two of Europe’s largest fueling stations.

Al-Ajmi, in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), revealed that the company won the concession bid to operate Europe’s largest fueling station, located on a major highway in Luxembourg.

Additionally, the company secured the rights to operate another large station in the region, which is among the largest fueling stations located on highways across the European continent.

Moreover, Al-Ajmi emphasized that this achievement marks a significant step toward fulfilling Kuwait International Petroleum Company’s strategic objectives in Europe, particularly in strengthening its market position. He highlighted that the company’s history in providing fuel services is long and well-established, underscoring its ongoing commitment to expanding its presence in the European market.

Al-Ajmi explained that this achievement will bolster the position of the Kuwaiti oil sector in global markets, particularly in the retail terminals sector. He added that this accomplishment will shine a spotlight on the company’s brand (Q8), showcasing its commitment to development, innovation, and the exceptional services it represents.

The operations at the two stations will begin on May 1 and continue for a period of four years. Al-Ajmi noted that the size of the stations exceeds that of typical gas stations by 30 times, enabling them to offer integrated services that cater to large volumes of customers. He expects the stations to serve up to 25,000 customers per day.

Al-Ajmi mentioned that, in line with the company’s commitment to sustainability, solar panels will be installed on all suitable surfaces at the two stations. This initiative aims to reduce the carbon footprint and promote the use of clean energy, reflecting the company’s vision to foster sustainable solutions and innovation in the transportation services sector.
