Kuwait Petroleum Continues Assessment of Al-Salmi Tanker Damage
Fire on targeted tanker extinguished, no injuries or environmental impact reported

The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) said it is continuing to coordinate with the relevant authorities to assess the full extent of the damage caused by the targeting of the crude oil tanker Al-Salmi.
According to a statement reported by Al Rai, the tanker crew successfully extinguished a fire that broke out early Tuesday following an attack on the vessel in the Al-Mukhtaf area of the United Arab Emirates, outside Dubai port. The blaze was brought under control by 4:26 a.m. Kuwait time, with guidance from KPC’s crisis management team and in coordination with UAE authorities.
The statement confirmed that all 24 crew members are safe and that no oil spills or marine pollution were reported. KPC continues to evaluate the incident and take necessary measures in line with standard procedures.
