Kuwait launches decade-long raffle irregularities probe, plans oversight reforms

According to sources that revealed to Al-Rai, the fact-finding committee established by Minister of Commerce and Industry, Khalifa Al-Ajeel, to investigate raffle irregularities, has mapped out a structured plan for its inquiry.

A crucial part of this strategy involves a thorough review of raffle records from the past decade, covering the years 2015 to 2025. Should the findings warrant further scrutiny, the committee may extend its investigation to earlier years, to ensure a comprehensive assessment.

Sources revealed that plans are underway to launch an electronic platform dedicated to receiving reports and complaints related to prize draws, aiming to enhance transparency.

Notably, the fact-finding committee is led by Adnan Abel, the head of the Kuwaiti Lawyers Association, and includes representatives from the Ministry of Interior and the Financial Investigation Unit, ensuring a comprehensive and multi-faceted investigation.
