An estimated 140,000 worshippers came together at the Grand Mosque for the Qiyam prayer, immersing themselves in spiritual reflection, heartfelt supplications, and prayers in a profoundly serene and reverent setting.

The Director of the Grand Mosque Administration, Saud Al-Mutairi, described the night as being “written in gold” for its exceptional organization and massive turnout.

Speaking to Al-Jarida, Al-Mutairi highlighted the presence of key officials, including the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Wasmi, and the Ministry’s Undersecretary. Al-Mutairi revealed that the total number of worshippers surpassed 140,000, which included 90,000 men and 50,000 women gathering in a spiritually charged atmosphere.

Al-Mutairi praised the outstanding recitations and supplications of Quran reciters Ahmed Al-Nafees and Mishary Al-Afasy, highlighting their profound impact on the worshippers. He emphasized the exceptional organization of the event, which reflected the Grand Mosque’s high standards of management.

Additionally, Al-Mutairi commended the seamless cooperation between various government entities, including the Ministries of Interior and Health, the General Fire Force, the Red Crescent Society, and dedicated volunteers. Their collective efforts ensured that all necessary arrangements were in place, providing a comfortable and secure environment for worshippers.

Al-Mutairi noted that the Grand Mosque’s courtyards were overflowing with worshippers who had arrived early, drawn by the night’s spiritual significance. The event was marked by meticulous organization and comprehensive security and service measures to ensure a smooth experience for all attendees.

Meanwhile, mosques across Kuwait also saw a large turnout, as worshippers gathered in an atmosphere of deep faith to perform night prayers and engage in Quranic recitation.

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, ramped up its preparations for the sacred night, coordinating closely with security, health, and volunteer agencies to provide essential facilities. Their efforts focused on ensuring smooth traffic flow and creating a peaceful, well-organized environment that allowed worshippers to fully immerse themselves in prayer and devotion.

As an exemplary community service, the volunteer teams played a vital role in managing the crowds, distributing water and snacks, and offering ambulance and emergency services to ensure the safety and comfort of all worshippers.

What’s more is that many families brought their children to experience the spiritual essence of the night, fostering a sense of faith and community. This added a unique social and spiritual dimension to the occasion, enriching the collective worship experience.
