Kuwait intercepts 7 ballistic, 2 cruise missiles and 26 drones; key facilities hit without casualties

The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Staff Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan, said the Armed Forces intercepted multiple aerial threats over the past 24 hours, including seven ballistic missiles, two cruise missiles, and 26 hostile drones within Kuwaiti airspace.

He added that the attacks targeted the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery, causing fires in several operational units, while a power generation and water desalination plant was also struck, resulting in material damage to parts of the facility. No injuries were reported.

Al-Atwan noted that explosive ordnance disposal teams from the Land Force Engineering Corps responded to 22 reports, handling remnants and hazardous objects الناتجة عن الهجمات as part of ongoing field operations to ensure public safety and protect lives and property.

He affirmed that Kuwait’s Armed Forces remain on high alert, continuing to carry out their duties with vigilance and efficiency, prioritizing the safety and security of citizens and residents.
