World No.1 Jannik Sinner powered into the final of the Madrid Open with a commanding 6-2, 6-4 victory over Artur Weiss on Friday, keeping alive his bid for a record fifth consecutive Masters 1000 title.
The 24-year-old Italian extended his remarkable run to 27 consecutive wins in Masters tournaments, having already claimed titles in Paris last year and in Indian Wells, Miami, and Monte Carlo this season.
Sinner’s latest triumph also secured him a place in history, becoming only the fourth player to reach the final of all nine Masters 1000 events, joining legends Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal. He is the youngest player to achieve this milestone.
“I’m very happy with the overall performance today,” Sinner said after the match, highlighting his aggressive approach and strong return game.
Sinner dominated the opening set with powerful baseline play and precise net shots, handing Weiss his first defeat on clay this year.
The Frenchman responded with a stronger showing in the second set, but Sinner secured a crucial break of serve before closing out the match in 85 minutes.
The Italian now advances to Sunday’s final, where he will face the winner of the second semi-final between Alexander Zverev and Alexander Bloks, as he looks to continue his extraordinary run and cement his dominance on the ATP Tour.
