Kuwait customs director calls for enhanced coordination

Director General of the General Administration of Customs, Yousef Al-Nuwaif, spoke of the critical need to intensify efforts and strengthen cooperation between different customs departments to ensure efficient passenger inspections and protect Kuwait from smuggling attempts.

Customs authorities stated in a press release that Al-Nuwaif, accompanied by Deputy Director-General for Investigation and Research Affairs Saleh Al-Omar, conducted an inspection tour of the T5 Airport Customs Department to monitor operational progress on the ground and evaluate the readiness of customs facilities.

Al-Nuwaif highlighted the continuation of field monitoring operations to improve discipline, readiness, and overall performance. He noted that the administration is advancing its development plans to keep pace with global challenges and evolving customs practices.

During the tour, the Director General commended the efforts of customs inspectors, recognizing their essential role in safeguarding both Kuwait’s security and its economic system.

The inspection included visits to specialized inspection centers and departments, where officials provided detailed explanations of the procedures and mechanisms implemented to ensure the rapid screening of travelers while strictly adhering to customs regulations.

Al-Nuwaif’s visit underscores the administration’s commitment to maintaining high operational standards and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of Kuwait’s customs operations in the face of increasing global and regional challenges.
