Kuwait celebrates completion of painting and beautification of eight major bridges

The Green Urban Development Initiatives Committee held a ceremony today to mark the completion of painting and beautification works on eight bridges along major highways.
The event, hosted at the Sahel Sports Club Bridge, was initiated by EQUATE Petrochemical Company and attended by Ahmadi Governor and Committee Chairman Sheikh Humoud Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, along with representatives from government agencies and EQUATE.
During the ceremony, according to Al-Jarida daily, attendees were given a field tour of the completed work, part of an initiative aimed at enhancing the country’s visual landscape and improving the urban environment.
Sheikh Humoud Jaber emphasized the committee’s commitment to supporting community service initiatives, noting that this project is the third initiative of the Green Urban Development Initiatives Committee. He added that other projects include landscaping on main roads, internal streets, and roundabouts across various areas of Kuwait.
Sheikh Humoud encouraged the public to submit ideas for community service initiatives via the committee’s website gudi.gov.kw and social media accounts @gudikuwait on X and Instagram.
He also praised EQUATE Petrochemical Company for its efforts and thanked the Council of Ministers for their ongoing support.
For his part, EQUATE’s Vice President for Technical Services, Dr. Salman Al-Ajmi, highlighted that the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainable urban development, as well as its support for the committee’s work.
He stated, “This initiative embodies EQUATE’s belief in its role in enhancing the urban landscape and improving city aesthetics and quality of life through effective partnerships with government agencies. Our success is tied to the prosperity of our communities, and through this initiative, we reaffirm our commitment to creating a sustainable and attractive urban environment for all.”
The initiative included the painting of eight major bridges:
- Fahad Al-Ahmad Suburb & Al-Mangaf Area Intersection Bridge (Al-Sahel Sports Club Bridge)
- Al-Raqqa & Al-Mahboula Area Intersection Bridge
- Al-Fintas & Al-Agaila Area Intersection Bridge
- Jaber Al-Ali Suburb & Al-Dhaher Area Intersection Bridge
- Al-Dhaher & Hadiya Area Intersection Bridge
- Al-Adan Hospital Bridge
- King Abdulaziz Road & Awad Al-Khudair Street Intersection Bridge
- Al-Fahaheel Sports Club Bridge & King Fahad Road & Hamad Al-Zuwair Street Intersection
This initiative represents a collaborative effort between the public and private sectors to advance Kuwait’s urban development and community-focused projects.
