Kuwait busts 15 drug operations, arrests suspects in major narcotics crackdown

Kuwait’s General Department for Drug Control has intensified its crackdown on narcotics traffickers and users, successfully foiling 15 criminal operations involving 15 suspects in nine separate cases.
In a statement, the Ministry of Interior said the suspects were found in possession of various quantities of drugs and psychotropic substances intended for trafficking and personal use, in addition to cash believed to be proceeds from illegal activities.
Authorities seized the following during the operations:
1,106 grams of hashish
337 grams of shabu (methamphetamine)
255 grams of marijuana
138 Lyrica capsules
5 grams of heroin
3 grams of Lyrica powder
Four sensitive weighing scales
Cash sums linked to drug trafficking
The ministry confirmed that all suspects and confiscated materials have been referred to the competent authorities for necessary legal action.
The Ministry of Interior reiterated its commitment to continuing intensive security campaigns to combat drug dealers and protect society from the dangers of narcotics. It also stressed the importance of public cooperation with security agencies by reporting any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking, promotion or abuse.
